Mining Pit
Out of the several miners that got trapped in a pit at the Gbane Mining site in the Upper East Region of Ghana, nine have been recovered and have been pronounced dead by the police.
Reports had it that, the miners were trapped after water engulfed the pit they were working in on Monday night following a downpour.
With the aid of equipment from the Xhanxi Mining company, a rescue team spent close to 48 hours pumping water from the underground mining tunnel in a bid to locate the miners that were trapped.
