The able speakers and decision makers of Ghana’s very own armed forces has revealed that it has taken measures and withdrawn few military officers over alleged brutalities of citizens which was captured in a fotage that went viral. These withdrawal comes as a punishment for defying the lockdown restrictions given to them
The General Commanding Officer of the Southern Command in the person of Brigadier General Nsiah in an address on Wednesday in Accra said that in as much as many of the videos on social media are fake the outfit has taken notice of a particular one.
“There has been one infraction and the person involved has been withdrawn to the barracks but many of the videos are fake and have been doctored.
“I don’t know the intention behind it but whatever it is, be assured your soldiers are professionals and don’t brutalise, we don’t and will not allow that,” he assured.
Stressing on few stuff, he made mention that personnel have been well briefed on the key roles of engagement in the Operation Covid Safety campaign.
Quoting parts of the scriptures, he wondered if these were deliberate attempts to run down the integrity of the service.
“Many of us Ghanaians are Christians and Muslims and we know telling lies about somebody is something God abhors and does not permit so we should stop and rather encourage the personnel to do the work,” he cautioned.
