Sporadic gunshots have been recorded at Kasoa as armed robbers attack a mobile money vendor and an electrical shop attendant at Kasoa precisely Opeikuma in Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region.
Reports say, the incident happened in broad daylight this morning at around 11:45
Affected shops have said that, the robbers succeeded in making away with about GHC5,000 and some items from the electrical shop.
Speaking in an interview, one Yaw Boagyan made it known that, the armed robbers were in black hoodies riding on a motorbike. “They suddenly attacked us and demanded money while firing of shots.” He said.
Eye witness says, the occurance gave them no other option than to take to their heels to save their lives. This resulted in five of them sustaining injuries and have been taken to Opeikuma Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, some residents have called on the government to deploy military/police patrols in the area to ward off criminals as such attacks keep rising in the area.
It would be recalled that a 40-year-old man was recently killed by armed robbers at Opeikuma bus stop after withdrawing money from a bank around the same area.
