Amidst the loud words and concerns flooding social media over the disobedience to the Covid-19 safety that was long ago set forth by the president of the republic of Ghana in the person of Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, the Ghana Medical Association has come out and pressed the media and the general public on the fact that, organizers and all others who flouted the protocols at the late Sir John’s funeral should be investigated and prosecuted.
This has on another level raised lots of concerns among social media users on the basis that, the president and his vice who were supposed to be championing the Covid-19 safety measures course rather painted a picture to look like they are not affected by the rules they set as they were seen among attendants exceeding the 25 maximum gathering who were not necessarily observing the protocols.
Following this development, Honourable John Brown Coffie of the National Democratic Congress has said that, it was very risky for the president and his vice to take up this call especially in times like this where security and health has not been so firm in the country.
Speaking on Kfm television on Tuesday, the 8th of June 2021, the politician told Efya Stard Edna that, the president and his vice could have been more careful by suggesting to be given a much healthier environmental condition and security threat-free moment to meet the family necessary enough to bid farewell to.
He questioned the advance security team of the presidency and their measures as to why they couldn’t suggest a better way out to deal with this avoidable mistake (he meant).
