Two persons have been recorded dead in Wa in the Upper West Region following an explosion of a petrol tanker.
Eye witness says the deceased Amidu and Issahaku of 24 and 20 years respectively were welding leakages on the tanker at the Wa Magazine when the explosion suddenly occured as another person also sustained critical injures on his left arm as he was passing just at the spot of the happening.
Reprts from close witnesses have it that, upon helpers rushing to the scene, one was already dead while the other was stuck in the tanker still alive adding that non could touch the tanker to pull him out because of the heat coming out of the exploded tanker.
People had to force their way through the hot tanker alongside the fire service persons to rescue the victim who was badly injured but had unfortunately passed away upon reaching the Wa Municipal Hospital, another witness said.
Workers in the area are hereby appealing to the government for fire stations, ambulance services and a clinic at the magazine as they explained that this will help give emergency services to victims of the numerous accidents that occur at the industrial site.
