Reports reaching urstrulypraiznews tells a sad story of a police officer who has been killed out of others reckless driving. The officer identified as Sergeant Salihu Hifzullar was killed after been knocked down by a truck at a checkpoint near Apam in the Central Region.
The officer reported to be 39 years of age was said to be on a snap check duty when the driver out of recklessness knocked him down with his truck leaving him with various degrees of injuries.
Happening on the 24th october at around 10:30pm, Sergeant Salihu was reportedly rushed to the hospital but was reported dead after being on admission shortly.
The driver of the truck which was moving from Mankessim towards Apam with two persons on board has been accused of driving recklessly and is currently in police custody. Speaking to the Public Relations Officer of the Central Regional Police Command in the person of DSP Irene Oppong, she made it known that the driver was moving “without due care and attention.”
DSP Irene added that the suspect driver, Francis Akese “has been detained and is assisting police with investigations”.
