The very man tagged as the lead suspect in the murder of Professor Yaw Benneh who happened to be a Legon law lecturer has passed away at the Police Hospital in Accra on Saturday.
Police has said that the young man had been sick for a while and had been put on oxygen at the intensive care unit of the hospital but couldn’t survive
Known largely as James Nana Womba, the lead suspect had earlier confessed his involvement in the gruesome murder of the late law professor at his official residence at Adjiriganor in Accra.
James happened to be one of the four who were initially arrested on suspiscion that they murdered the professor.
The state placed murder and conspiracy to murder charges on the three others following James’ confession and naming them as his accomplices and have been able to effect one arrest in the person of Opambour Agya Badu as efforts are been made to grab the other two.
Prof Emmanuel Yaw Benneh was allegedly murdered at his Adjirigano mansion in Accra while his body was found days after with his hands tied and cloth stuffed in his mouth.
