
Reports coming in from the northern regional capital indicates that one person has got his life ended in a shooting incident.
This reported event is said to have occurred after residents of Choggu Manayili in the Northern Regional capital Tamale made collective efforts and attacked police officers during the middle hours of Wednesday.

It has been told that the officers had been called upon by the chief of the area to effect a rescue on a suspected thief who was on the verge of losing his life to residents and this resulted in the mob turning their anger on the police for trying to prevent the suspect from being lynched.
An interview with the Northern Regional Crime Officer in the person of Chief Superintendent Otuo Acheampong , it was gathered that the residents had tied the suspect with robes and were about to kill him just after they were found with some cattle of which many suggested were stolen from the community.
The Crime officer went on and gave an account of their success in rescuing the suspect into the police van even though they never had it easy.
Superintendent Acheampong made it known that the victim of the gunshot was believed to have been hit by a stray bullet after the police fired warning shots in response to the attack by the mob.
“He was hit in the stomach and rushed to the Tamale Teaching hospital and later pronounced dead” he said.
