The news reaching urstrulypraiznews.com has it that Thirty-two members as part of the entire medical staff of the Tamale Teaching Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19. The hospital serves as the isolation referral center for the pandemic.
It has been reported that among the virus infected medical stuff comprised 19 doctors,12 nurses and 1 orderly.
This sad report was brought to the public domain through the confirmation of the hospital’s very own Director of Medical Affairs in the person of Dr. Abass Adam.
During his report, he made it known known that some of them have been treated and discharged while others were still on admission with one person in very critical condition.
Upon being asked of the provisions that have been made for those who came into contact with affected staff, Doctor Abass said that “All 80 staffs who came into contact with their colleagues who unfortunately tested positive for covid – 19 had their results being negative ”.
In this case, Northern Region has recorded a total number of 163 cases of the COVID-19 pandemic since March to date with 120 recoveries thus 73.6 percent and a total of 39 active cases.
