One of Ghana’s top female gospel musicians Celestine Donkor has spoken on the Joe Mettle and Patience Nyarko vocal blows and as well kicked blames on a section of the media for being the energy behind the bout between these two gospel artists.
In a latest interview with Joy News, Celestine shaded the media for asking controversial questions that tends to put confusion between artists.
She said “I really want to talk to the media who ask these questions to arouse controversies. They are also not helping matters because, for some, their questions raise unnecessary comments and competition,”
Celestine Donkor after having time to listen to Patience Nyarko’s claims opened up confidently that her colleague wanted to communicate something very rational and important but her composure was loose thereby failing her
“She wanted to communicate something important, that an industry cannot be built around one person. However, she could have done that nicely without temper,” she commented.
The “Agbebolo” singer then cautioned Patience Nyarko and her colleagues to focus on doing the kingdom business.
She said “Patience Nyarko is a brilliant singer, she has good messages and Obi Nyanime and W’afom Kwan are great songs and she won a lot of hearts for that. I will tell her to maintain her focus, besides, it is not necessary that as an artiste, you must write your own songs adding that “Some artistes are not composers, it is okay that you find someone to write for you or do cover versions. At the end of the day if Joe Mettle won like 1,000 souls with Pentecost or Methodist Hymns, that is hurray,”
