Few weeks ago, residents of the University of Ghana were asked to evacuate the various hostels with all their belongings as the course of the corona outbreak made it reasonable to fumigate all rooms on the university’s campus.
But then just before the order, the suspension of all gatherings including lectures gave students many reasons to leave the campus even though the need to send out all their belongings home was not made a must initially.
It may have occurred that many could not come back for their stuff for reasons based on their remoteness or the unexpected lockdown restrictions.
The very sad news knocking my door is that, thieves have managed to sneak into several rooms at pent hostel and made away with money and other valuable items. This comes as a very shocking news as there are securities on a 24 hour surveillance in Pent. A video is circulating on social media and it is nothing to praise authorities of the hostel for.
The question is, if these were caused by thieves truly, then where were the securities being paid to safeguard the hostel because in as much it was noted that authorities will not be liable for any lost items, the hostel must be safe for students.
Watch video:
The funny thing is the thieves enjoyed tea before leaving the room
